NCMD Seminar Presents 'Oral ketamine for the treatment of depression'

NCMD Seminar Ketamine

Today for our NCMD Seminar, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Chittaranjan Andrade as our presenter and Professor Rupert McShane as our discussant.

Dr Chittaranjan Andrade joined us from Bangalore. He delivered a thorough presentation about oral ketamine for the treatment of depression, focusing on his experience with oral ketamine in India. He discussed why the focus so far has been primarily on intravenous (IV) and intranasal ketamine, presented available evidence on the safety and efficacy of oral ketamine, and outlined a protocol for administration of oral ketamine that makes the treatment available, affordable, accessible, safe, and convenient at his clinic in India.

We were also delighted to be joined by Professor Rupert McShane from Oxford, who leads the Ketamine TRD service for treatment resistant depression, focusing on the delivery of ketamine via the IV route.

The seminar was very well-attended and attendees engaged in really valuable discussion, so thank you to both Dr Chittaranjan Andrade and Prof Rupert McShane.
