NCMD and DemaNDs Seminar Present 'Using the Akrivia CRIS Platform to unlock HER data for mental health research'
This week, the NCMD and DemaNDs (Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases) jointly hosted a brilliant data science seminar aiming to increase data science literacy and activity in local mental health and dementia research. This is part of our NCMD seminar programme.
On behalf of DemaNDs, Dr Benjamin Fell, Head of Research at Akrivia Health, delivered a talk on their aims to advance research for discovery and development in mental health and dementia by combining patient data and AI powered NLP. Ben is Head of Research at Akrivia health, leading their in-house R&D team. He's responsible for overseeing Akrivia's data curation and research activities, which includes their NLP data structuring pipeline, the hands-on analytic support they provide to NHS Trusts in the network, and their own in-house research programme.
He delivered his presentation on how the Akrivia CRIS platform can be used for mental health research in CNTW (and beyond), with a particular focus on how Akrivia uses natural language processing to unlock the rich research-relevant information held in free-text clinical notes.
Thank you to Dr Ben Fell for delivering this fascinating seminar!
