Neave woollam

We had a fabulous day at the Cumbria Northumberland Tyne & Wear NHS Trust Research & Development Conference 2025.

Session 1 was chaired by our NCMD lead Professor Hamish Mc-Allister-Williams. During session 1 we had a talk from NCMD member Dr Ian McKinnon about his new research project 'PIONEER-MH: A Realist and Economic Evaluation of Police Involvement in Inter-agency Mental Health Crisis First Response Pathways in England'. We also had talks from the CaPE Clinic's Dr Barbara Salas Revuelta on 'The ASCEnD Trial' and Dr Mourad Wahba on 'The CaPE clinic: Three years later'.

A variety of posters from our NCMD team were also presented. We'd like to say congratulations to psychology placement student with Team Lithium, Neave Woollam, who won 1st poster prize for her poster 'Optimising Lithium Prescribing Through Patient Public Involvement and Engagement'!

We also saw posters presented from:

Dr Victoria Wing on 'A One Compartment Model Provides Benchmark Lithium Dose Prediction'.

Psychology placement students Evie Newman and Chanelle Willie working with Dr Ian McKinnon on 'Investigating Healthcare Equivalence within Two Police Forces in England: Qualitative Analysis of Police Custody Risk Assessments and Custody Records'.

Harry Hackett, research assistant with the CaPE Clinic, on 'The Care Pathway Enhancement Clinic at three years old: evaluating a Mental Health Mission-funded pilot mood disorder research clinic in the North East'.

Beth Hall, research assistant with the CaPE Clinic and Dr Tiago da Silva Costa, senior research fellow, on 'Cognitive effects of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS in health volunteers: a sham-controlled randomised controlled trial'

Well done everyone! It was great to see such a brilliant NCMD presence!
