World's first psychedelic research centre launched today at Imperial Research Centre

Psychadelic research

Funded entirely by donors, Imperial College London has launched the world’s first psychedelic research centre in an unprecedented display of commitment to the study of psychedelic substances outside of NGO efforts. The centre will build on recent years of research to further investigate the full extent of their therapeutic potential, and their effect on consciousness and the brain. This follows a world-wide clinical trial exploring psilocybin (the ‘magic’ in 'magic mushrooms') for Treatment Resistant Depression for which Newcastle is a UK site.
