NCMD Presents - Holding onto hope with difficult to treat depression

20240515 174456

Professor McAllister Williams and Dr Stephen Barton presented the concept of difficult to treat depression (DTD) and the case for holding onto hope. The speakers demonstrated the need for a synergy between a range of treatments for depression and that stand alone treatments seldom work well for individuals with difficult to treat depression. They illustrated the need for clinicians to think more laterally about individuals and lean towards more bespoke treatment packages which are informed by all factors contributing to the depression and driven by the things that are deemed most important to the patient. Excellent talks by both speakers well received by an intimate audience.

Look out for our next public engagement event in the autumn.
