International Olympic Committee (IOC) - Advanced Team Physician Course

NCMD member and RADS consultant Alan Currie has been working with the IOC on a range of mental health topics since 2018. Most recently he presented a symposium on the clinical approach to mental health concerns in athletes. The conference in Istanbul in November 2021 was attended by leading sports physicians from around the world.

British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) editorial

Alan has also recently published an editorial in the BJSM with his colleagues from the IOC mental health working group. The editorial describes the current state of knowledge of mental health concerns in elite sport and draws attention to significant gaps in the evidence base. The intention is to stimulate further research in these areas.
