What are heart arrhythmias?

Any deviation of the normal rhythm of the heart eg an irregular heartbeat. The heart may beat too fast (tachyarrhythmias) or too slow (bradyarrhythmia) The patient may get extra beats tachycardia. Atrial and ventricular “fibrillation” involves the heart beating chaotically which may cause the heart to stop contracting. This results in the stopping of blood being pumped around the body. Symptoms include breathlessness and chest pain.
