CPD event - Fifth NCMD Annual Mood Disorders Meeting
The Fifth annual Northern Centre for Mood Disorders (NCMD) meeting aimed at consultant psychiatrists, associate specialists, senior trainees, nurses, and pharmacists interested in mood disorders was originally scheduled for May and was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, a half day on-line CPD meeting did take place on Friday, 18th September. The meeting brought together NCMD research activity and clinical practice to provide clinicians with an update of the CURRENT use and availability of different treatments. The half-day afternoon meeting started by examining the burden and risks associated with mood disorders. The concluding presentation provided an overview of a new international consensus regarding how we should think about managing difficult to treat mood disorders. The focus of the meeting was very much on the ‘coal face’ of how to manage patients, providing high quality CPD of relevance to clinicians.
