The fifth annual Northern Centre for Mood Disorders (NCMD) meeting was originally scheduled for May and was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, I am pleased to announce that NCMD is running a half day CPD meeting, on-line, in September with a similar programme to the originally planned meeting. I hope that you will join us for this event.
NCMD was launched in 2015 with a remit to increase research into mood disorders, foster best clinical practice and support related educational activities for health care professionals and the general public. The 2020 NCMD meeting is aimed at consultant psychiatrists, speciality doctors, psychiatry trainees, nurses, pharmacists and any other clinicians interested in mood disorders. The meeting brings together NCMD research activity and clinical practice to provide clinicians with an update of the CURRENT use and availability of different treatments. The half-day afternoon meeting will start with by examining the burden and risks associated with mood disorders. The concluding presentation will provide an overview of a new international consensus regarding how we should think about managing difficult to treat mood disorders. The focus of the meeting is very much on the ‘coal face’ of how to manage patients, providing high quality CPD of relevance to clinicians.
To register for the meeting email firstname.lastname@example.org, and you will be provided with a link and password for the meeting. The meeting is free to attend though we invite voluntary donations to the Out of the Blues charity set up to support research into mood disorders. To make a donation, large or small, go to https://mood-disorders.co.uk/education/out-of-the-blues. Alternatively or additionally, consider sponsoring me for the Ventoux3 for Out of the Blues challenge at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/outoftheblues
I look forward to seeing you ‘virtually’ on the 18th Sept.
