Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is a potential treatment for depression that has not responded to other treatments.  There has been a report of patients treated with VNS for 5 years recently published.  This has led to increased interest in the treatment and an article was published in the Guardian Newspaper on the 2nd Oct 2017 in which Prof McAllister-Williams from NCMD was quoted.  See https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/oct/02/hitting-the-right-nerve-with-depression-the-electronic-vns-implant
